No News from Biggie

Biggie lost his cell phone charger so there's no news from Biggie :-(
It will be good when he gets a new charger and be in touch again.

Hi Wheenie,

I'm now all happily settled in at Gordon's place and am feeling pretty good. We did very little today but just kind of hung out. Gordon and I took a long walk on the beach but it was a bit too cold to really enjoy it much. Actually it is very developed down here with many high rise buildings right up to the beach line. A little bit like living in the city but the apartment is nice and comfortable and Gordon and his sister Joyce and very interesting and we just talk on endlessly solving the problems of the world.

Yesterday I visited the Congeree National Park in central South Carolina which was really interesting with it's extensive swamp and the highest disiduous trees in the U.S. I will be home in just one more week. My how the time did fly. More later. I lost my phone charger so I will not be able to phone ti'l I get another one, hopefully tomorrow.

It's snowing again. Sean did most of the shoveling. The snow makes me sick. I took today off, and maybe tomorrow too. I want to spend my days watching old black and white westerns on TV, working on my computer, eating homemade boeuf bourguigon, smart food and ice cream, and polishing copper. I did venture out to cast my vote for Martha. Will probably stay up all night to find out the results.

Rain in Key West

I am now on the hotel computer as the library is closed. Boo hoo. It is going to rain off and on today which is drag but I will bring my raincoat and make do. They tell me you are going to get some new snow tonight. Sorry about that. I shall continue my birding today and otherwise just hang out at the hotel and ride around town on my bike. I will try to get into my blog but don't hold your breath.

Biggie still in Key West.

Biggie is lounging in Key West, sunsets, cat man. Latest email from Bruce:

"Here I am in my home away from home, the Key West Library. It is always crowded here as there are a lot of people in Key West who don't own their own computers. This morning I was hanging around the hotel a lot just trying to relax. It is finally really hot down here and I am now in my shorts and short sleeve shirt. I went to the worthless Mallory Sq last night to see the cat man and the sunset but otherwise I just ride around on my bike which is really a lot better than the crappy rental bikes. This afternoon I will go birding."

Hey, Biggie, just think you are missing the Boston heat wave. It's 47 degrees today. Sadly, they expect snow GRRR Sunday night.

Key West

After a whole week I'm finally down here in Key West where it warm and balmy. I checked into my cheap (for Key West) hotel sat by the pool and ate fruit from "Robert is Here" and filled in my journal. It really is nice. So my first stop was the library where I am now and discovered that I could easily access my blog. (Thank to Wheenie to spoon feed me) I spent all day yesterday in the everglades and it was as lovely as ever and I got home well after dark as I was drinking it all in and just couldn't leave. My highlight was seeing the Roseate Spoonbills come in to their final roosting place for the night. They would just circle around and finally drop into their special spot. It was beautiful especially with the Wood Storks who have this huge wing span and are all black and white. What a way to end the day. My tooth is still holding up thank goodness. Good old Mary Jane.

It is still cold in Florida.

Biggie called tonight and he is having a nice time w/ Marilyn and Dan. He took the bike out today for a ride, but it is still cold down there. The citrus growers are having a rough time of it.

I'm now at the Hayes and all happy. Yesterday, I drove from Savannah to here all on back roads, stopping off at the Okefanokee Swamp National Wildlife Reserve for several hours, but alass, no birdies. It was too cold and they were all hunkered down I guess. I did get some nice pictures
however.

Poor Biggie's gone. He missed out.

Super Cold in Savannah

It's super cold. Took the bike out last night but it was just too cold to ride around and enjoy the place. This morning I went out to the car to get some maps and decided that I will retire the bike 'til Key West. I will walk around a bit this morning and then I'm off to the Hayes.

Biggie's in Savannah

Biggie called last night. He was in Savannah staying in a cheap motel. He's been eating breakfasts at Wendy's and the rest of the time at Arby's. YUK. Serves him right. I'm cuddled up in my warm apartment watching tv, playing with my computer, eating sausage and eggs for breakfast and boeuf bourguignon for dinner. YUM. I deserve it!

Hey, Where's Biggie?

Last night Biggie was in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He had a place that was cheap w/ no wifi. The weather there was cold, 12 degrees. Hehe - poor Biggie goes south and leaves me here to work in cold New England and then it is warmer here. Serves him right. Haven't heard from him today Sunday.
